The libation for Slavery Remembrance Day 2008 will take place at Otterspool promenade, south Liverpool. The location map on this page is also on the Slavery Remembrance Day 2008 leaflet, which can be downloaded below, or printed copies are available from the International Slavery Museum.

Free transport to Otterspool

Free buses to Otterspool will pick up from Our Lady and St Nicholas Church after the multi-faith service, leaving at 11.45am.

A shuttle bus will also run from the International Slavery Museum to Otterspool, leaving at 11.30am, 12 noon and 12.30pm.

Buses will make return journeys from Otterspool to the International Slavery Museum, leaving every 15 minutes between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

Public transport to Otterspool

The following public transport services go from Liverpool city centre to Otterspool.

  • Bus: The 82A bus service runs from Paradise Street bus station to Jericho Lane (Stand 8) every 30 minutes.
  • Train: Trains run from Moorfields and Central stations every 15 minutes to Aigburth station. The event is approximately 15 minutes walk from the station.

Travelling by car

Limited car parking spaces are available on Otterspool Drive.

From the M6, follow the M58, M62 or M56 to Liverpool. Follow the road signs to the waterfront or central tourist attractions. You might find the following maps useful:
