Papyrus
This is a very useful plant that the Egyptians used for several reasons. Flowers were used as decorations, roots were eaten and stems were used for making boats, buildings and ropes etc.
The best-known use of papyrus, however, is to write on. It was early paper. Strips were pressed flat and dried. The strips stuck to each other without glue.
