About the costume collection

There are about 20,000 pieces of costume and textiles in the collections of National Museums Liverpool. We have everything from 18th century dresses to 1970s platforms!

There are plenty of designer clothes in the collections too, including Mary Quant, Ossie Clark, Jean Muir, John Bates, Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Christian Dior, Yves St Laurent, Andre Courrèges and Dolce & Gabbana.
