About shadow puppets

Shadow puppets come from Java, an island in Indonesia, which is famous for its shadow puppet theatre. Performances, shown after dark to enhance the shadows, have taken place for over a thousand years and can still be seen today. They would tell stories, including the great Hindu epic of Ramayana.
