Description: Jar, with ovoid body and ribbed middle section, a short straight neck, and a wide cylindrical cover. Decorated in underglaze blue with a scene from The Romance of the Western Chamber (Xi Xiang Ji). The beautiful maiden Cui Yingying and her maid Hongniang chat in a garden.
Mark of the Chenghua period (1465-1487 AD) in six characters in a double ring, but the beaker is of Kangxi date.
