Description: Bowl, one of a pair (to LL 6249), with fluted sides and wavy edges, the lower part moulded in alternating petal-shaped and arched panels. Inside, a medallion with the poet Li Bai leaning on a wine-jar: in the petals are symbols bound with fillets. Border of swastika fret. Outside, the Seven Worthies of the Bamboo Grove, and fungus designs alternating with symbols on a matting ground. Mark of the Chenghua period (1465-1487 AD) in six characters in a double ring, but the bowl is of Kangxi date.
