Original Chinese frame, lacquered and gilt.
Formerly the property of Lord Montague of Beaulieu, purchased by Frank Partridge for Lever, 5 July 1917, £100, by whom gifted to the Lady Lever Art Gallery, 1922. Correspondence between Partridge and Lever, 11 July 1917 (the painting has been sent to The Hill). LLAG Invoice file No. 76.
