Description: Reverse painting on glass with a mirrored background, one of a pair (to LL 8812); with a group of six women on a patio, an elegant lady seated next to a table, maids one serving tea and one holding a fan, on the right three musicians playing instruments. Glass broken. Original Chinese frame, lacquered in reddish-brown colour.
Bought from Frank Partridge, 5 March 1918, £120 (for a pair of Chinese mirror paintings; LL 8811 & LL 8812, which have been sent to The Hill), gifted to the Lady Lever Art Gallery, 1922. LLAG Invoice file No. 87.
