About this object

A blue jasper jug with marine themed white jasper applied decoration.The figure of Neptune, clutching the spout, forms part of the handle. There is the head of a dolphin just below the spout. This is a companion piece to LL 1030, which is dedicated to Bacchus, the Roman god of agriculture and wine.
