Jug; cream

LL 1189

About this object

A white jasper cream jug, dipped in lilac, with applied white sprigging. The cream jug features some of Lady Elizabeth Templetown's (1747-1823) designs. The white stripes are produced by removing the top lilac layer. Wedgwood developed this technique using an engine turning lathe. This cream jug is part of a larger set, complete with tray.
