About this object

A white jasperware coffee cup which has been dipped in black jasper. Coffee cups are sometimes called coffee cans. It has applied white jasper decoration and blue jasper cameos. It was not until 1796 that black jasper was put into production.
The saucer for this cup is LL 1232.
