About this object

A blue jasper vase with white jasper decoration relating to the story of Leda and the Swan. The handles are formed by the necks of two swans, whilst the lid is surmounted by Leda being seduced by Zeus in the guise of a swan. Zeus was the King of all the ancient Greek gods
