About this object

A Blue oval jasper tablet with white jasper applied sprigging. It depicts 'Night shedding Poppies'. A putti at her feet reaches for the poppies. The design is probably modelled by John Bacon (1740-1799), a freelance sculptor living in London, in about 1769.
