A mother of pearl and metal button inset with a blue jasper medallion. The blue jasper is decorated with white jasper sprigging depicting Priam and Achillies. Shown here in the top right of the image.
Large, fancy buttons were very fashionable in the late eighteenth century on gentlemen's clothing, such as waistcoats and coats.
