About this object

These earrings are made from blue jasper with applied white jasper decoration called sprigging. The decoration on LL 2258, shown here on the right of the image, depicts the four Muses. The simple hooks are made from gold.
The other earring in the pair is LL 2259, shown here on the left, which has decoration depicting Ganymede and the eagle.
