'The Blessed Damozel' by Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Win tickets to see Manchester Camerata perform music inspired by Rossetti's 'The Blessed Damozel' at the Lady Lever Art Gallery

Our friends at Manchester Camerata have given us a pair of top priced tickets to give away for the opening concert of their 2009/10 season on Friday 9 October, 7.30pm, at The Bridgewater Hall.

The prize also includes a copy of their recently released, critically acclaimed live recording of Beethoven's Symphonies no.4 and no.7 on CD, in this free prize draw! Described by Gramophone magazine as 'gutsy, powerful, vivid - this Mancunian Beethoven is something special' this CD is a must-have for any music lovers collection.

At the concert the orchestra will perform William Alwyn's intense and turbulent 'Autumn Legend'. This work was inspired by Dante Gabriel Rossetti's painting 'The Blessed Damozel', which is on display at The Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight, Wirral. Why not pay the gallery a visit for free and find your own inspiration?

As an exciting prelude to the concert, at 6.30pm, you will be able to watch the premiere of 'Legends', a film and original score created by pupils from Egerton Park Arts College with Camerata musicians and film makers, Littlestar media. Featuring a megastar line up, this concert will also feature Brahms' 'Piano Concerto 1' and Beethoven's 'Symphony no.8'.
