This is a typical Pre-Raphaelite composition, without the deep space or vertical framing devices of a conventionally picturesque view. Note the tiny rabbit in the bottom left corner.

Boyce's earlier work is more minutely detailed. By the time he painted this his touch had begun to broaden a little.
