Learning
Face-to-Face was a community exhibition of striking self-portraits created by students from the Young Learners group at EMTAS (Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service).
The students attended a series of art sessions at World Museum from January to March 2008. During these sessions they worked with artist Charlotte Brown to learn a variety of textile and collage techniques. They began by creating well-known celebrity faces, before moving on to their own individual self-portraits.
This exhibition, which opened at World Museum during Refugee Week 2008, was delivered through the Engaging refugees and asylum seekers project at National Museums Liverpool, which aims to include local refugees and asylum seekers in outreach activities and events throughout our venues.
