We welcome groups from nurseries and infant schools to all our museums and galleries. At many of them we can offer sessions and resources to link in with the National Curriculum and enhance your visit, making it more enjoyable and worthwhile. All our services are free of charge.

We offer you, as teacher or group leader, the opportunity to:

We do ask you to book all visits and sessions in advance. When you contact us we can tell you all you need to know to make your visit a success. We can discuss details of lunch and cloakroom facilities, and suggest resources to enhance your visit.

Specially for the very young

Our expanding range of sessions suitable for very young children and their families or carers in our museums include:

Community projects with early years children

The Community Partnerships team are keen to offer learning opportunities to very young children, children with special educational needs and children in vulnerable circumstances. As well as introducing these groups to our museums and galleries, we are currently developing outreach activities for these children and their parents or carers.

We want to build relationships with groups from areas of deprivation and social exclusion as well as those with disabilities and other special educational needs. We are visiting early years’ providers and family organisations to raise awareness of what we can offer. We intend to work more closely with these groups to meet their needs and provide an even better service.
