Find Your Talent was a government programme which aimed to get every young person the chance to experience cultural activities. The Find Your Talent programme has now come to an end. We are proud that Find Your Talent had two very successful years delivering fantastic projects that offered life-changing experiences for children and young people aged 0-19.

The pilot opened up a host of new possibilities for cultural organisations across the region to develop new ways of working and to engage with schools and young people in new areas of Merseyside. The approaches developed and the partnerships between cultural organisations, education settings and local authorities will continue into the future. The cultural offer in this area has always been rich and we will work to make sure it will endure and continue to engage young people and transform their lives for many years to come.

The cultural organisations that participated have a strong set of shared values. They are all working in a city and region which experiences high levels of disadvantage, and where young people often lack opportunity and aspiration and they wanted to change that. They believe in the potential of arts and cultural experiences to change children and young people's lives. They agree that all children and young people should have access to high quality culture and that this is a fundamental right in a civilised society. And they recognise that cultural services for and with children and young people can be delivered better with a partner-based approach.

The pathfinder offered a chance to try out new approaches, test new partnerships, and develop new models to learn from in the future. It forged closer relationships between cultural organisations and the wide range of services that support development and learning for young people and children .

Find Your Talent in the Liverpool City Region was led by National Museums Liverpool on behalf of LARC, in partnership with Knowsley MBC, Liverpool City Council, St Helens Council and Curious Minds (previously Creative Partnerships Merseyside). Liverpool City Region was one of 10 pathfinder areas across England to pilot Find Your Talent (FYT). Working with the world class cultural organisations on their doorstep, Find Your Talent gave children and young people the chance to try out different cultural and creative activities and access high quality cultural experiences.
