Ghana conference 2009

In August 2009 teachers involved in the institute attended a conference in Accra, Ghana. The two week event brought together teachers from New Haven, Connecticut; Merseyside, England and Ghana.

National Museums Liverpool sponsored teachers from the Merseyside area to attend the conference in return for their enthusiasm in teaching the subject of slavery and strong commitment to innovation in teaching and cross curriculum development.

The teachers attended preparatory sessions before the visit to Ghana and delivered CPD work for colleagues on their return at the International Slavery Museum.

If you are interested in finding out more information about the institute please send Carol White an email or contact her on 0151 478 4427.

The project is actively supported by Hope University and the University of Liverpool.
