The Museum of Liverpool has been awarded a grant of £11 million by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The money had previously been earmarked for the fit out in January 2007, and this marks the successful completion of a Stage Two application.
The new Museum of Liverpool will open in 2010/11. In the meantime you can find out about the city's history in some of our other venues.
The museum will demonstrate Liverpool’s unique contribution to the world and will showcase popular culture while tackling social, historical and contemporary issues.
