This photograph shows Blacklers’s department store five years after it returned to its Great Charlotte Street location after the damage caused by fire in the May Blitz had been repaired.

The enormous scale of the store is apparent here in this view of the central hall and staircase. Dominating the scene is an enormous model of Father Christmas.
