HMS Conway

The Merchant Navy training ship HMS Conway opened on 1 August 1859 and was moored in the Mersey for more than 80 years.

There are a number of objects related to HMS Conway in the maritime history collection. Some of the objects featured in the highlights gallery below are on permanent display in the Life at Sea gallery, others formed part of a special display marking the 150th anniversary of HMS Conway in 2009 at the Maritime Archives and Library, which has now closed.
