Odin Rosenvinge

Odin Rosenvinge (1880-1957) was born at Newcastle upon Tyne of Danish descent. He produced his first marine paintings while working for commercial art and printing firm in Leeds. Aged 32 Rosenvinge moved to Liverpool where he joined a publishing company Turner and Dunett, their clients included all major shipping companies at that time. During the First World War he served in the Middle East. His travels has visibly influenced his art work and led him to use brighter colours. In the 1930’s when his employers went into liquidation Rosenvinge continued artistic career turning to freelance.
