This is a No 9091 9mm submachine gun. It was seized in 1992 during an examination of household goods imported from South Africa. The weapon was made by the Kommando Arms Manufacturing Corporation of South Africa. The magazine that holds the ammunition is missing. It would normally load into the pistol-grip with a spring action mechanism.
The work done by HM Revenue and Customs in spotting such illegal weapons is vital in helping control gun crime in the UK.
