Cunard Canadian Services 'Golden Prospects'

London British Colour Printing Co, 1925 about

About this object

After the First World War, full colour illustrated posters really took off. Many artists were employed in creating images and text to attract the attention of potential clients.
Blank space below the image of this poster was left for the inclusion of information from the travel agent's office.
‘’…O Canada, where pines and maples grow,
Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow.
How dear to us thy broad domain,
From East to Western sea, thou land of hope for all who toil,
Thou true Northstrong and free…’’
The national anthem of Canada was one of the songs included in a song sheets provided by the shipping companies and sang by passengers emigrating to start their new lives in Canada.
