Pensby

PLACENAME: Penisby (first mentioned c1229). The village on Penn Hill. From Primitive Welsh Penn and Old Norse býr. Alternatively village on the hill, 'pen' meaning 'hill'. Penlisby 1307; Pemmesby 1523.

Pensby Hall

Pensby Hall (1668) is a two storey red sandstone house with a slate roof. It has stone mullioned windows. There have been later alterations and additions (listed Grade II).
