The White Star is where we used to drink which is in Button Street and that was my local; it’s funny how you hang around the same places (plots the White Star on a map). The White Star’s a lovely pub, unspoilt, we used to go in there and have crab sandwiches and it used to have the best pint of Bass in Liverpool, at the White Star. It still has regulars, old blokes who remember. Mr Quinn who used to keep the Bass in barrels because then they didn’t have keg beer and all the things they do with beer now, and Bass was a very volatile beer and if you had a bad pint of Bass it was awful.
