It was frequented by all the Chinese, it mainly sold brandy, it sold everything but that’s all that was drunk was the brandy. The seamen used to go in there because the Alfred Holt line, the Blue Funnel line, they were all Chinese crew so a lot of them would frequent over there, and others, Spanish, seen all sorts in there. And some of the prostitutes used to gather in there as well, for their trade of course.
