Transcript for Installation, 1970s
Many will remember the old landing stage at Liverpool Pier Head, it was always a hive of activity as boats to three destinations arrived and departed at very frequent intervals. It was also a place to stroll and view ships at close quarters, by the mid 70s it was time for it to be replaced. Shortly after installation a combination of high winds and tides allowed water to seep through a weak part in the hollow structure and it sank. Repair work soon got underway, eventually it was ready just in time for the Queen's visit in Silver Jubilee year.
