The complex of warehouses and everything was intact but the water was completely drained, and there was no water in the Albert Dock itself and the related docks. It was totally covered in mud and silt so it had been allowed to silt up. It was boarded up but quite easy to get into. There was one corner of the Albert Dock I remember where all the brick work of the warehouse was exposed where a bomb had damaged the corner of the building and it had just been left. In other areas you’d see old capstones and this equipment at the dock side just left intact for the weeds to grow up between the cobbles.
