The Dock Road was still, certainly the north end, was very much bounded by the dock wall with dock gates and you did not go in. I could not go in without an invitation, for example my husband would have come with an invitation, because the police on the gates were definitely only of one opinion if you were female and you were going in and you weren’t actually cleaning a ship.
