You’d see the odd one going past with the two horses and the fella would either be sat on the wagon or he’d be walking alongside it or maybe he nipped in the pub for a pint and left it going on its own. A lot of them used to do that, they could as they were going past. They’d go by the pub have a quick one or a cup of tea or a butty and then they’d catch the horse up a bit further up because that’s how well trained they were. They were amazing.
