Little is known about William Barry except that he was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1889 and he was employed by the Cunard Line as a fireman on board the
Lusitania. He resided at 22 Athol Street, Liverpool in 1915.
He did not survive the sinking and his body was not recovered and identified afterwards.
As he has no known grave but the sea and thus he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London. He was aged 26 years.
