Thomas Duckworth was born in Liverpool, Lancashire in 1885, the son of Thomas and Margaret Duckworth. He married Alice Bristow in 1902 who died in early 1909, aged 25 years.
He was employed on the Lusitania as a fireman in the Engineering Department and he was killed when she was sunk.
His body was not amongst those recovered and identified afterwards and he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine War Memorial at Tower Hill, London. He was aged 30 years.
