Edward Finnegan was born in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, Ireland in 1893, the son of Edward and Mary Finnegan of Drimahill, Castleblaney, County Monaghan, Ireland.
He served as a trimmer in the Engineering Department on board the Lusitania and was killed when she was sunk. He was aged 22 years.
His body was never recovered and identified after the disaster, so as he has no known grave his name is embossed on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London.
