Patrick Hanlon was born in Liverpool on 15 February 1896, the son of Patrick and Mary Hanlon. The family home was 1 Court, 3 House, Stone Street, Liverpool, Lancashire.
He was employed as a trimmer in the Engineering Department on board the Lusitania and he was not amongst the survivors after the sinking. He was aged 19 years.
His body was never found and identified, so he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London.
