About Edward James

Edward James Harris was born in 1896, the son of James and Jane Harris (née White). The family home was at 148 Wolfe Street, Toxteth, Liverpool, Lancashire.

He served as a trimmer in the Engineering Department on board the Lusitania and he was not amongst the survivors after the sinking. He was aged 19 years.

His body was never found and identified, so he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London.
