About Thomas

Thomas Kearney was born in 1893, the son of Peter and Mary Kearney of 'Spink', Tawnyshawn, Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland.

He served as a fireman in the Engineering Department on board the Lusitania and was killed when she was sunk. 

His body was not recovered and identified afterwards, and as a consequence, he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London.  He was aged 22 years.
