Operation Reaver display

Endangered species

Animal skulls seized at a home in West Yorkshire.

This new display highlights a recent case. Hundreds of animal parts were seized at a home in Wakefield. Some had been killed to order and sold for a profit online.

A retired couple were trading in rare species from Africa and Indonesia worldwide on eBay. They were operating without CITES permits.

A huge haul included parts of dead monkeys, flying foxes, hornbills and dried bats. The couple were charged with 51 offences, fined and faced a prison term.

Online trade involving fanatical wildlife criminals threatens many species survival.
