Archaeology at National Museums Liverpool
The archaeology of Merseyside is extremely rich and diverse. The landscape has been modified by humans for over 10,000 years and displays evidence from the Prehistoric periods to the more recent industrial and built heritage.
There are several strands to National Museums Liverpool's archaeological work. We undertake community archaeology, curate the regional archaeology collection and host the North West's finds liaison officer for the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
