Come along and discover why horses were so important to the docks of Liverpool with our Education team.

Get hands-on with our horsey objects including tack, brasses and horseshoes and find out how we celebrate working horses in Liverpool.

During the peak of trade into Liverpool’s docks, horses were vital to keeping everything moving around the city, pulling huge loads from the quaysides to the warehouses and markets.

Discover more about these gentle giants including what equipment they needed, how they were looked after and how these important animals are commemorated and remembered even after they disappeared from the city’s streets.

This event is part of our Christmas and Christmas event series.
