‘Meet me at the Museum’ is a series of free events for older people to take a nostalgic look back with a different theme each month. Sit back and share your memories with our friendly visitor hosts, and relax with a tea or coffee among friends.
Everyone is welcome. This event is dementia friendly. Come on your own and make new friends or bring a pal.
March’s theme is inspired by women in history, and takes a look at women including Marie Curie, Rosa Parks, Queen Elizabeth II and more. It will be an opportunity to talk about women in history that interest you.
April’s theme is inspired by nature and Easter. We will look at Easter traditions and explore birds or animals you may be familiar with during springtime.
May's theme takes a nostalgic look back at the 1960s and 1970s, and explores the fashion, news and styles of the two decades. It will be an opportunity to talk about your memories of the time or events that happened.
June's theme is transport and explores the ways we travel, past and present. It will include a special focus on memories of the 1969 moon landing.
Meet me at the Museum runs four times every month on Fridays from 11am – 1pm. It runs in rotation at Sudley House (first Friday), the Lady Lever Art Gallery (second Friday), the Museum of Liverpool (third Friday) and World Museum (fourth Friday).
