Get hands on with the past as you get the chance to look at, touch, and find out about real objects from the Museum of Liverpool's archaeology collection. Forget glass cases, this activity gets you closer to the artefacts than ever before!

Explore the archaeology of Merseyside with a member of our Education team. See and feel Stone Age flint tools, Roman household pottery and modern metal-detector finds from the local area. This handling session explores the evidence left behind by people in Merseyside from the earliest settlers of the Middle Stone Age through to the Industrial Revolution and beyond.

This activity also gives you the opportunity to find out more about the process of archaeology and how evidence of the past is brought to light today through excavations and metal-detecting.

This event is part of our Archaeology event series.
