‘Meet me at the Museum’ is a series of free events for older people to take a nostalgic look back with a different theme each month. Sit back and share your memories with our friendly visitor hosts, and relax with a tea or coffee among friends.

Everyone is welcome. This event is dementia friendly. Come on your own and make new friends or bring a pal.

Monthly themes

  • July’s theme is sport and looks at different events from Wimbledon to the World Cup.
  • August’s theme explores the wonders of the ancient world and compares them with the wonders of the modern world. Join us for a fascinating look back at the past and talk about things that you feel are wonders of the world.
  • September’s theme takes a nostalgic look back at the 1940s and 1950s, and explores films, music and news of the two decades.
  • October’s theme is inspired by autumn and nature, and explores what birds, animals, plants and trees you may be familiar with during autumn.
  • November’s theme focuses on remembrance, and in particular the armed forces. Take this opportunity to talk about the ways we remember servicemen, servicewomen and civilians.
  • December’s theme celebrates the festive season, and explores Christmas traditions and wintertime events.
