Removal of Kop perimeter fences

The fences come down at Anfield in 1989 as crucial new ground safety rules following the Hillsborough Disaster come into play. Note the tributes to lost friends and relatives scrawled on the wall as people try to come to terms with their grief. One simply says

"To all the fans that died R.I.P."
