Museum of Liverpool on the road
The amazing new Museum of Liverpool will be a spectacular showcase for the social history and popular culture of this vibrant city. It will be housed in a stunning and fully accessible building, complementing Liverpool’s famous waterfront.
The museum, which will open to the public in 2011, will draw on National Museums Liverpool’s vast wealth of collections, many of which have never been on public display.
The former Museum of Liverpool Life closed in 2006 to allow construction to begin, so while the new Museum of Liverpool is being built we have been touring some of its fantastic collections ‘on the road’ to different locations across the city and occasionally further afield.
