To help prepare for the temporary closure of the Museum of Liverpool from 31 December 2016, some of the exhibits in the History Detectives gallery have been removed. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
The Museum of Liverpool will re-open in late February 2017.
Delve deeper into the history and archaeology of Liverpool and unearth the secrets of the city, from the Ice Age to the present day. History Detectives poses the questions 'what was here?' and 'how do we know?'
Answers can be found in the interactive Merseyside Map and the huge Timeline, which forms the backbone of the gallery. Packed with objects, the Timeline explores 10,000 years of history and is the perfect place to start your visit.
Our city, our stories displays
Our City, Our Storiesis the Museum of Liverpool's ongoing partnership programme. The programme enables local people to present their interpretation of the museum's themes and objects through working with the Museum of Liverpool team.
The current display is Bootle in the Blitz.
