Bootle in the Blitz
To help prepare for the temporary closure of the Museum of Liverpool from 31 December 2016, this display has been removed. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
The Museum of Liverpool will re-open in late February 2017.
Our City, Our Stories display
The Museum of Liverpool team worked with a group of Bootle residents together with the Brunswick Youth Club and Safe Productions to produce this display about Bootle during the Second World War.
A group of residents visited the museum's collections store to choose objects for this display that reminded them of their experiences of Bootle during the war. Their memories are used as object labels to tell visitors about the reality of wartime life.
The display also features a piece of artwork created by the same group, which incorporates existing materials from a project about Marsh Lane into the design.
